The Best Places to Work in Virginia program identifies and honors outstanding employers across the Commonwealth in three categories: small employers (15–99 employees), medium employers (100–249 employees), and large employers (250 or more employees). Companies are evaluated through a comprehensive two-part process designed to assess workplace excellence and employee satisfaction.
The first portion of the evaluation examines each organization’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics, accounting for approximately 25 percent of the overall score. The remaining 75 percent is determined by an anonymous employee survey, which measures associate engagement, satisfaction, and the overall workplace experience. Together, these results determine the final rankings.
